This year, Lawrence Dare will be taking on the London Marathon as one of our EOS Fundraising Stars. He’s not just running for the challenge: he’s running to raise awareness for the realities of living with eczema every day.

Lawrence has lived with eczema his whole life, and knows first-hand how much it can affect daily life.

“I’ve dealt with eczema my whole life,” he explains. “It’s affected myself and everyone in my family, and I believe a lot of awareness is needed in regards to what the day-to-day is like for us.”

For Lawrence, eczema isn’t just about occasional itching. It’s something that requires constant care and attention.

“I always get a lot of anxiety when I forget to use this cream, or if I forget to moisturise.”

Growing up, eczema also brought challenges many people don’t see or understand.

“I remember whilst growing up, having to hide my joints as during winter my symptoms would get very bad, and I didn’t want to be picked on in, for example, PE.”

That’s why Lawrence is passionate about supporting EOS and the work we do for children and young people living with eczema.

“I really love how EOS are raising awareness for issues like these for young people who aren’t normally as well equipped to deal with the pressures that come with eczema.”

By taking on the London Marathon, Lawrence hopes to help shine a light on those daily challenges while raising vital funds for EOS.

“I want to run the London Marathon to raise money for disadvantaged people like us and hopefully bring as much awareness to the issues we face daily.”

At EOS, we’re incredibly grateful to Lawrence for sharing his story and taking on such an incredible challenge. Fundraisers like him help us continue providing support, information and community to families living with eczema.

Thank you, Lawrence – you’re one of our fundraising stars! ⭐
