Girl scratching inflamed eczema

One child’s future lost to eczema is one too many.

When Magali Redding couldn’t find support for her child with eczema, she turned frustration into action – and Eczema Outreach Support was born. Rooted in her experience and strengthened by every family since, we’ve grown over fifteen years into a community of genuine compassion and a family spirit.

Brave in the face of misinformation and misunderstanding, we work closely with healthcare, education, local communities, employers, policy makers and research to transform the experience of eczema forever.

Our Support

Living with eczema can be a painful and lonely existence with devastating consequences- but it doesn’t have to be.

In our UK-wide community, we support and connect those navigating young lives with eczema, from birth to 18, through times of crisis and beyond.

We address the physical and emotional challenges, investing in the wellbeing of everyone affected through:

  • 1-2-1 support on the phone or by Zoom
  • An information and practical resources pack sent in the post
  • Access to our peer-to-peer community for parents and carers through online parent/carer drop-ins and our closed Facebook Group
  • Access to our peer-to-peer community for children and young people through fun online sessions
  • In-person activities and events to connect families
  • Online information sessions with experts
  • Support for schools including workshops for children and training for education staff [to improve educational outcomes for children and young people with eczema]
  • Specialist education and resources to upskill anyone supporting families with eczema such as parents and carers, doctors, nurses and teachers.
  • Influencing treatment and care by representing experienced voices at the heart of policy development, service design and research.
  • Raising awareness to help everyone understand the impact of eczema.

Our values are at the core of all our work

  1. We are compassionate: Grounded in the experience of families, we stay open-minded and curious to deeply understand others and act with kindness and respect.
  2. We are brave: We push boundaries, championing our cause against misinformation and misunderstanding with heartfelt courage born from experience.
  3. We are united: We pull together as a team, offering a warm welcome and a safe space. More than the sum of our parts, we proudly foster our collective strength.
