In 2022 we highlighted the important link between eczema and mental health by getting everyone involved.
The social media campaign
Even in 2022, some people still think eczema is contagious and are wary of holding hands for fear of catching the condition.
You cannot catch eczema, and it is perfectly safe to hold the hand of someone with it.
To reinforce this message we asked our members to create a social media campaign of hands with eczema being held.
It was really easy to get involved! All you they had to do was take a photo holding hands with someone else and share it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. With the moto,
This #WorldEczemaDay I’m showing the world that eczema is not contagious! You cannot catch eczema and that’s why I’m taking part in @EczemaOutreachSupport’s ‘you can hold my hand’ campaign. Do you want to get involved? Share a post of hands with eczema being held.
